Organized in collaboration between the Gümüşhane Provincial Directorate of National Education and the Gümüşhane University International Student Coordination Office, the "Intercultural Values ​​Encounters" series continues to build cultural bridges in the city's educational institutions. The third event in the series, "Intercultural Values ​​Encounters III," took place at Gümüşhane High School on Monday, March 9, 2026, during Iftar (breaking of the fast). The program was attended by the Provincial Director of National Education, Şener Doğan; the Assistant International Student Coordinator, Dr. Fevziye Bekar; the Director of TÖMER (Turkish Language Teaching Center), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Doğan; the Deputy Director, Havana Kaynak; the Head of the National Education Branch, Abdulkadir Koç; the Principal of Gümüşhane High School, Fatih Demirel; teachers; and school staff. At the event, international students from Indonesia, Sudan, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Kenya, and Somalia gave presentations introducing their countries' Ramadan cultures, traditional iftar meals, and Eid preparations.

The next stop in this cultural exchange was the "Intercultural Values ​​Meetings-IV" event held at Mareşal Çakmak Social Sciences High School on March 11, 2026. This meeting was attended by the International Student Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Çalık, Assistant Coordinator Dr. Gökhan Genç, TÖMER Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Doğan, Provincial National Education Directorate Branch Manager Abdulkadir Koç, Mareşal Çakmak Social Sciences High School Principal Hamit Tanış, school teachers, and students. Both programs fostered solidarity among students by bringing together different geographies around shared values, and included communal iftar meals. Following the iftar program, our international students from Somalia, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, and Syria shared their Ramadan traditions through presentations, bringing the gatherings to a close with a cultural celebration.
